Odor Analysis

We offer a comprehensive odor analysis, which includes:

  • Identification of odor emission sources.
We assist in identifying and selecting sources of odor emission on the premises of the plant, which may affect air quality.
  • Selection of sources for measurements.
We indicate key emission sources that should be subjected to detailed measurements.
  • Accredited measurements of odor emissions.
We conduct precise, certified measurements of the size of odor emissions from selected sources.
  • Mathematical modeling of emissions.
We create a mathematical model of the plant, taking into account odor emission sources, which allows for precise assessment of the spread of odor substances in the air.
  • Analysis of sensitive areas.
We assist in identifying protected areas due to potential impact of odor substances (e.g. residential areas).
  • Modeling of odor dispersion.

We offer detailed modeling of the dispersion of odor substances in the plant surroundings, the results of which include:

  • Maximum concentrations of odor substances in the plant surroundings (reference period: 1 h) with a concentration isoline chart.
  • Frequency of odor occurrence in the plant surroundings with a frequency isoline chart.
  • Concentrations and frequency of odor substances in protected areas (e.g., residential buildings), taking into account their altitude.
  • Contribution of individual emission sources to concentrations and frequencies of odors in selected points representing protected areas.
  • Assessment of plant impact
Based on the modeling results, we assess the plant’s impact on the olfactory air quality, relating the results to proposed normative values.
  • Modeling of odor dispersion
The measurement part is essential to indicate the size of odor emissions from the plant area. In order to determine how the measured emission affects the state of olfactory air quality around the emission source, it is necessary to perform mathematical modeling, taking into account the annual statistics of meteorological conditions and the location of sensitive areas around the plant. The result of the modeling is maximum concentrations and frequency of odor occurrence on an annual scale.
